Dayle Ann Dodds
Dayle Ann Dodds is the author of more than 20 books for children. She was born in Ridgewood, New Jersey, and attended California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, where she got her B.S. in Early Child Development. Growing up, she loved to read fantasy stories, draw, and ride horses. When Dayle took a class on children’s literature in college, she realized that she wanted to return to the world of children’s books, this time as an author. She worked as a teacher, an administrative assistant for a publishing company, and a freelance proofreader before she began to write her own children’s books. Dayle wrote her first book after the birth of her first daughter, and has been writing since then, balancing her busy life as a mother with her dream job of writing children’s books.
Dayle’s books have won numerous awards and recognitions from the School Library Journal, the American Booksellers Pick of the Lists, Publisher’s Weekly, the New York Times Book Review, and Parenting Magazine’s Award of Excellence.
